Nehemiah Teams AOT

March 19th, 2017|Announcements|

What is Nehemiah Teams?

An 8 week summer mission opportunity for Southern Baptists age 17-29 that strategically involves young people in cross-cultural missions to unreached people groups internationally or here in the United States (Project 52).

What is AOT?

Nehemiah Teams Advance Operations Training (AOT) is designed to disciple, develop, and deploy this generation to finish the Great Commission in this generation, specifically preparing young people to accept different leadership roles and assignments needed for NT.

This training will also better prepare them for longer term assignments or lifetime appointments with the IMB.

Deacon Nomination

In March of each year we nominate men to become deacons. Prior to nominating, we ask that each member pray earnestly as to whom God would have them nominate.  After nominations, each name is prayerfully considered, his qualifications evaluated and he is asked if he will serve. In June, we vote on a ballot in the bulletin. Each deacon serves for a 3 year period of time.

NEXT SUNDAY, THE 26TH WILL BE NOMINATION SUNDAY

botw_112716Top leadership researcher, consultant, and coach Susan Fowler says stop trying to motivate people! It’s frustrating for everyone involved and it just doesn’t work. You can’t motivate people—they are already motivated but generally in superficial and short-term ways. In this book, Fowler builds upon the latest scientific research on the nature of human motivation to lay out a tested model and course of action that will help leaders guide their people toward the kind of motivation that not only increases productivity and engagement but that gives them a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment.
